The initial tweet also caught the eye of CNN anchor Jake Tapper who called out to shoppers in Houston to support the donut shop:

Even Twitter helped out by sending some employees to support the business.

The owner’s son tweeted, “Just wanted to update yall! We completely sold out of donuts and kolaches! You are all amazing. I can’t thank everyone enough for coming out and supporting local businesses. This means so much to my family.”

The call-out that went viral is still going strong. Days after the initial tweet, Billy’s Donuts is selling out just hours after opening its doors.
